Based on your property, local building requirements, and your pool’s design, materials, and features, this sequence may vary slightly.
Our designer creates a 3D rendering and finalizes the design with your written approval
We obtain engineering and building permits, lay out your pool, and prepare the site for excavation.
An excavator digs your pool, dump trucks haul away the dirt, and our crew cleans up the access area.
A crew installs a network of reinforcing steel rebar, per an engineer-approved schedule.
A licensed electrician bonds all metal components.
Install pump, filter, and any other equipment. Run underground plumbing lines for main drains, skimmer, returns, and any other project features such as spa jets, solar system, and water features.
We request an inspection from the local municipality to confirm that pool construction meets local building codes.
Shoot concrete through a high-pressure hose to form a monolithic pool shell, including steps, benches, and any spa, bench, tanning ledges, or other integrated features.
Create a layout on your site, and grade the earth so it is level for building a deck at the intended elevation(s).
Run an electrical line from the main service panel to equipment location.
Install control panel, lights, switches, and other electrical components.
Install coping material on pool & spa perimeter and any bond beam.
Apply tile at pool & spa waterline and—as applicable—on raised beam.
Concrete Deck: Install sub-base and pour and finish the material.
Paver Deck: Lay down a sand base, and set the pavers.
Construct any special features such as fire pits, outdoor kitchens, sitting walls, pergolas, and landscape boxes.
We remove construction debris and clean your pool & spa shell in preparation for its interior finish.
We request an inspection from the local municipality to confirm that all barrier code requirements have been met (e.g., self-closing gates, alarms on doors leading to pool).
Apply a smooth marcite or ColorQuartz finish to waterproof the concrete pool & spa shell.
We begin filling the pool with water.
If project includes a pebble finish:
Crews return the next day to specially treat the finish to expose the pebbles, and then they start the water fill.
Our technician activates the pool equipment. He will then show you how to operate your new aquatic retreat and all of its features!
